Tom Fung - Chairperson of the Board
Tom is the Program Director of the MS Global Fashion Enterprise Program at the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce at Philadelphia University. His teaching assignments include global supply chain management, and leading study abroad programs to tour textile & apparel factories in China.
Tom developed a plethora of eclectic interests over 29 years working in the consumer packaged goods industry. Travel is perhaps part of his DNA, as international assignments with Campbell Soup Company had taken him to Europe and Asia. Formerly, as Director of Operations for North American Foodservice Division, Tom managed all aspects of the supply chain, with direct impact to profit and loss. His corporate experience ranged from engineering, packaging, and operations management to strategic planning. He was a key liaison between product development and marketing, overseeing 30 manufacturing plants, supporting commercialization, business continuity planning, capital budgeting, logistics, technology assessment, and lean manufacturing practices.
Tom has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; MBA from Temple Fox School of Business, and MS in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has served on the Temple University CIBER (Center for International Business Education & Research) Advisory Board (http://www.fox.temple.edu/ciber/board.htm) since 2003.
Tom’s vision for NAAAP Philadelphia is promoting inclusion and innovation. Peggy Kelly - Board Member
Peggy Kelly joined Spectrum, A Certified Herman Miller Dealer, in March 2013 as President. Spectrum takes an innovative approach that transforms office workspaces. Before Spectrum, she came from Herman Miller, a leading furniture design firm based in Michigan where she spent three years, most recently as Vice President, Global Seating. Here she obtained experience setting direction for the seating division from inception of products globally to design and development to sales launch, marketing and sell through strategies for seating portfolio. Peggy has a proven track record building new organizations, achieving bottom-line results and developing talent. Peggy currently resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
Lori Chen - Board Member and Co-Founder
Lori Chen is a Vice President, Private Client Advisor at JPMorgan. She holds Series 7 & 66, and completed Certified Financial Planner program. She is fluent in Mandarin, and conversant with 3 Chinese dialects.
Lori Co-founded National Association of Asian American Professionals Philadelphia Chapter in 2004 (NAAAP Philadelphia), now the largest Asian Professional Organization in Philadelphia. She plays an instrumental role since the inaugural of the chapter and serves as President from 2010 to 2014. Currently, she serves as Board of Director of NAAAP Philadelphia & NAAAP New York.
Lori has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Marketing from DeSales University and a Master’s of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from La Salle University. Prior to relocating to New York City, she devotes tremendous amount of energy to non-profit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia area. She is on the Advisory Board of the Asian American Women’s Coalition, promoting the advancement of Asian American women through leadership and mutual support. In addition, she is on the Asian advisory committee of the American Cancer Society (PA Division Southeast Region), and a member of the Community Advisory Council at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Lastly, she co-founded Asian Mosaic Fund Giving Circle in 2010, a diverse group of multi-generational donors committed to advancing the well-beings of the Greater Philadelphia Asian Community.
Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Lori moved to the US in 1995. She travels frequently between the US and Taiwan to spend time with family and friends. Lori’s hobbies include playing a variety of sports such as volleyball, Pilates, archery, swimming, and working out at the gym. She also enjoys reading, dining out, traveling, and simply spending quality time with loved ones.
Jenny Wong - Board Member
Jenny Wong has been a NAAAP Philly Board Member for several years. She is currently on the board of the Asian American Women’s Coalition (also past President) and is the Secretary for the OCA-GP chapter. She is currently employed with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, LP in Wilmington, DE and is a World Wide Group Auditor for the Americas. Jenny has her BS in Microbiology from Douglass College (Rutgers University) and her MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Pharmaceutical Marketing. Jenny resides in PA with her husband and has three grown sons, plus a dog named Gizmo.
Jenny is passionate about promoting young professional Asian Americans into management positions in leading companies for further consideration as potential Board members or in political nominations.
David Chan - Vice Chair of the Board
David’s career has primarily been in the healthcare industry in such roles as new business development, account management, customer relationship management and most recently both talent acquisition and career development. Graduating with his Bachelor’s degree, he was initially recruited to join Marion Laboratories, one of Fortune Magazine’s “America’s most admired companies” in a professional pharmaceutical sales career. After winning numerous regional and national sales awards, being selected as a regional trainer and management development candidate, he continued his career selling surgical implants and capital equipment for Allergan and Picker Medical to some of our nation’s most prestigious academic institutions and surgeons in the Philadelphia region. He transitioned his career to an executive recruiter over a decade ago joining ECA Recruiters, a firm with nearly four decades of history of placing sales people and sales managers nationwide. In this role, David has developed dozens of Fortune 500 and start up clients, placed hundreds of individuals in new careers throughout the nation and is often a confidant and resource to those individuals seeking career guidance. David is also a very active community leader. He’s a current board member of the National Association of Asian American Professionals, Philadelphia Chapter.
For over a decade, he’s also been a volunteer leader with the Boy Scouts of America – Cradle of Liberty Council holding many roles, including an executive board member, Council Advancement Committee Chairman and an Assistant Scoutmaster. David also volunteers his time coaching community based baseball and football youth programs.

Clem Cheng - Director
Clem leads the Human Resources function for the Sales & Marketing organization of Comcast Cable which is an organization that includes a workforce of 10,000 across multiple sales channels. Clem joined Comcast as the VP HR of Comcast Spotlight, which is the $2B+ advertising sales business of Comcast Cable. As an HR executive, Clem is focused on delivering the spectrum of HR services including sales force effectiveness, talent acquisition, talent management, employee development and HR consulting. Prior to joining Comcast, Clem worked in various senior level HR or Operations leadership roles with CIGNA, W.L. Gore & Associates and Citigroup. Clem, his wife and three children reside in the suburban Philadelphia region. He is active in the community, serving on the Board of the Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of American Asian Professionals (NAAAP), is a former Board member of the March of Dimes and is co-founder of the Run For Babies 5K/10K which benefits the March of Dimes. Clem’s other passion is physical fitness and he is an avid recreational triathlete. Clem earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Economics from the College of William & Mary, and his MBA from the University of Delaware.
Carol Wong - Board Member
Carol Wong has been a board member since NAAAP Philadelphia was founded in 2004. Carol is the Director and owner of the Chinatown Learning Center, a bilingual preschool and after school program that she founded 22 years ago. As a Board Member for the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC), Carol addresses affordable housing and community development issues in Chinatown. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Asian American Women’s Coalition (AAWC), which promotes the advancement of Asian American women through leadership and mutual support. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia SUNS, a youth basketball and Lion Dance organization, and On Lok House, a senior housing and community center. Carol proudly serves on the Board for the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC). Carol has a Bachelor's & a Master's Degree in Elem. Education from Penn State University and a Master's Degree from West Chester University in Early Childhood in Education. She enjoys time with family, friends, and traveling.
Sun Lee - President
Sun Lee is a Partner in KPMG’s Philadelphia Federal Tax practice. He has extensive background in tax compliance, income tax provision preparation and review and planning for public and privately held clients.
He graduated from Drexel University with an accounting degree and holds an MBA from Temple’s Fox School of Business and he is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Villanova University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania and member of the AICPA and Beta Gamma Sigma. Sun is also active in the community as he serves on the Board of the American Cancer Society and alumnus of LEADERSHIP Philadelphia.
He is married, his wife works for The Vanguard Group in Valley Forge. They have a young daughter and reside in Downingtown, PA.
Annie Huynh - Interim EVP
Annie has been part of NAAAP Philadelphia for five years, previously serving as Scholarship Chair, Director of Member Services, and Executive Vice President for two years. She is excited to serve as the Interim EVP. As Executive Vice President, she oversees the Operations team including Marketing, Member Services, Information Technology, and Programming. Annie is graduate of Temple University with a Master of Education in Elementary Education. Currently, she is an educator and literacy coordinator in Philadelphia. Her areas of focus include literacy, social studies, and teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). Her passion lies in equitable education for immigrant students. Additionally, she develops social studies curriculum, and participates in professional organizations such as Teachers Lead Philly and Teacher Action Group for the advancement of the teaching profession. In her spare time, Annie enjoys bike riding, yoga, and writing.
Tristan King - AVP of Corporate Relations
Adopted from South Korea at a young age, Tristan is part of a multi-cultural family. As a result, diversity has always played an important part of his life. His father taught him first-hand the power of financial independence and inspired him to follow a profession that would help individuals gain the confidence and fortitude needed to accomplish this goal.
Tristan received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Real Estate from Temple University’s Fox School of Business. Raised in Bucks County, he currently resides in the Yardley/Morrisville area. He is a member of the Fox School of Business Alumni Association (FSBAA) and a member of the National Association of Asian-American Professionals (NAAAP). He is an experienced martial artist and enjoys teaching and training at a local academy.
Devang Patel - VP of Corporate Relations
Devang is a Senior Manager at Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment companies with over $3 trillion dollars in global assets and 14,000+ employees. With a Computer Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and a MBA from Saint Joseph's University, Devang has been able to navigate his way through Information Technology to closely align himself to the Investment Management business, leading the development and support of their equity trading platform. Devang is also involved with LEAP (Leadership and Engagement for Asian Professionals), one of Vanguard's employee resource group where he focuses on building a professional development program for their members. Outside of work, Devang is married with 3 kids and resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He is also active in the community, serving as the Officer of Corporate Relations in the Philadelphia chapter for National Association for Asian American Professionals (NAAAP). In his spare time, Devang enjoys playing tennis, flag football and watching sports.
Tuanh Nguyen - AVP Collegiate Relations
Tuanh became an active member of NAAAP Philly fresh out of Temple University in 2013, where she studied International Business Administration and minored in Management Information Systems. She has worn quite a few hats in NAAAP, such as Database Manager for Membership, Project Manager for IT, and Scholarship Manager and AVP for Collegiate Relations. Through NAAAP Philadelphia, Tuanh was able to work on public speaking skills and is now able to easily communicate with professionals from various backgrounds. Tuanh is currently enrolled at Drexel University where she is working towards her Masters of Science in Information Systems. Being a part of the NAAAP Philly team is a continuous learning and growing experience. She is always happy to help others to learn and grow as well!

Aaron Beverly - sNAAAP Dragons Toastmasters Co-President
Aaron is Vice President of Education and advisor of 3 Toastmasters chapters in Philadelphia and Newark, Delaware. He oversees the communication and leadership development of over 85 individuals each year. A 2 time semi-finalist in the Toastmasters International World Championship of Public Speaking, Aaron was 1 of 90 final contestants in a field of 25,000 competitors worldwide. Professionally, Aaron now works in project management after having spent several years in the private banking sector.
Nancy Li - Director of WIN
Nancy Li is a native Brooklyn-ite living in Philly. During the day, she is a multichannel marketing strategist at Pursuit Solutions: working with data and analysts to find the best marketing mix for pharmaceutical clients to get the right message to the right people through the right media channels. Prior to Pursuit Solutions, she had a variety of roles at Merck (sales representative, market research, multichannel marketing, and launch project management) and an MBA from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of business and a BS in Biology and East Asian Studies from the University of Virginia.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling (12 countries and counting!), reading, pilates, and experimenting with food (baking, pressure cooking, and eating out).
Nancy is excited to lead the Women in NAAAP (WIN!) program at NAAAP Philly to cultivate professional and personal leadership in Asian American women. She invites both women and men in the conversation about gender and culture in the workplace and at home.
Stephanie Tran - President of NAAAP Drexel
My name is Stephanie Tran and I am one of the founding members and is currently the President for NAAAP Drexel 2014-2015. By day, I am a Supply Chain Planner for TEVA Pharmaseuticals and by night, I am a 5-year Drexel Student studying Business Administration and Marketing. What I find most attractive about NAAAP Drexel is that it is an open arena to initiate, innovate and integrate ideas that become the fundamentals of a leader. This organization allows me to be the best that I can be in a safe environment and it lets me build and expand my network. Roni He -
Roni He is an accountant at Techdata Service Company, a pharmaceutical consulting firm. She earned a Master Degree of Accountancy from Temple University and she is also a CPA candidate. In her free time, she enjoys jogging, traveling and reading .She is currently serving as a co-finance director in the Finance team.
Meiyuan Li -
Mengyuan(Myli) is originally from Beijing, China where she was born and raised. She is an alumna of University of Delaware where she earned her Master in Finance. Myli has been involved in National Association of Asian American Professionals Philadelphia Chapter in 2014 (NAAAP Philadelphia). Currently, she serves as the Finance Officer for Finance Team of NAAAP Philadelphia. Myli is a Research Analyst at World Trade Center Association in Wilmington, Delaware helping companies expanding business in foreign countries. In her free time, she enjoys salsa, jogging and traveling.

Erica Chen - Director of Marketing
Erica Chen has over 7 years of experience in the world of advertising in industries including banking, education, military, online gaming, e-commerce, and healthcare. She is currently working as an account executive at MOD Worldwide, a branding and digital agency in Philadelphia. Her past employers include LivingSocial, LMO Advertising, Chronicle of Higher Education, Masterminds Agency, Ronald McDonald House of Delaware and Bank of America. Erica had joined NAAAP Philadelphia in 2009 as the Director of Member Services and helped the chapter nationally win Membership Growth of the Year in 2010. In her spare time, she likes to play tennis, rock climb, karaoke up a storm, cook, and cardio dance like no one is watching.
Vu Trieu - Director of Member Services
Vu is a diversity recruiter for Comcast. He has been a recruiter since 2002 when he owned a sales company in San Diego, CA. Vu loves his current job because it allows him to expand his network and meet many different types of talent. His involvement with NAAAP started in 2013 and he is excited to give back to the Asian community. Several people had paved the way in order for him to do what he loves and he wants to be able to pay it forward.
Brian Hamilton -
Brian’s experience in NAAAP dates back to 2013 starting with his involvement through Employee Resource Group Affinity dinners. After getting a better understanding of the impact NAAAP has to Asian American professionals, Brian decided to become more involved by attending networking events and seminars as a member. By networking through NAAAP, Brian was able to see the value and opportunity for personal and professional growth that it even pushed him to pursue a new career opportunity leading to his current job as an IT Project Manager at Comcast. This pushed him to get more involved within NAAAP as he recently joined the membership services team looking to continue to spread the awareness and benefits of the organization to others within the community.
Kristy Leong - Director of Programming
A 5 year member with the organization who has served in Marketing and Collegiate Relations, Kristy Leong is currently the Director of Programming for NAAAP Philadelphia. In this role, she will ensure that all events will deliver on NAAAP Philadelphia’s promise to offer quality programming focused on professional development.
Kristy Leong received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Biological Basis of Behavior from Penn and her Masters in Business Administration in Operations and Entrepreneurship from Wharton. Her background is in digital media, analytics, marketing, sales, and entrepreneurship. Her industry experience spans CPG, health care, and gaming.
Elaine Chin - Assistant Director of Programming
Elaine Chin is an account executive and office manager at Everpads, Inc., a global manufacturer and supplier of industrial rubber wear parts for heavy road construction machinery. Elaine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers University with a minor in Psychology. She joined NAAAP Philadelphia in 2010 and is currently serving as the Assistant Director of Programming.
