Ping brings over 15 years of corporate tax and finance management experience plus 5 years of client service and business development. Ping’s background is in Big 4 Accounting with industry clients in financial services, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, media, pharmaceutical, retail, telecommunication, and not-for-profit sectors. Ping serves as an Assistant Vice President for Robert Half’s accounting and finance consulting division, Management Resources. Within this role, externally, he works with executive clients in the areas of accounting and finance. Internally, he manages client relationships, marketing, implementation of strategies for revenue growth, as well as development and execution of key strategic initiatives for his team’s operations. Currently, she is the CFO for Quaker Valley Foods, a large privately held company that specializes in food distribution. Cindy was the recipient of the 2015 CFO of the Year for medium size companies awarded by the Philadelphia Business Journal for financial accomplishments, leadership, respect, and community involvement. Cindy is active in her community with over 15 years of not-for-profit board experience. She co-founded the Greater Philadelphia Cantonese Academy in Rosemont, PA. The School promotes the understanding of Chinese culture, heritage and experiences in the US. Cindy also has served on the board of professional organizations, mentored young professionals and college students and spoken at various events. Born in Hong Kong, Cindy is fluent in Chinese. She has strong ties to Philadelphia where she attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, began her career in Public Accounting and earned her CPA designation. She later progressed her finance career into the private industry, where she held senior financial management and CFO positions before her current position at Quaker Valley Foods. Ari Karpf is the managing partner of a multi-office law firm overseeing litigation in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He is based in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He is licensed by the highest Courts in each of these three states, and he is also licensed to practice before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and four other district courts.
Ari’s legal focus throughout his career has been in the areas of employment and civil rights litigation. While continually representing corporations during his legal career, he has primarily represented individuals. Common areas in which he litigates include but are not limited to: class-action wage litigation, executive and business-related contracts, corporate compliance and OSHA violations, WARN Act violations, discrimination, wrongful termination, whistleblowing, FMLA, ERSIA, labor regulations, and on a select basis, litigation against municipalities, police departments, or governmental agencies for violations of individual civil rights. He also regularly appears before agencies such as the Department of Labor, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, National Labor Relations Board, and the Division of Civil Rights.
Ari is a very accomplished trial attorney, and he has tried many cases as co- or lead-counsel throughout the tri-state area in state and federal courts. He currently serves as a co-coordinator of the Public Interest Panel for the United States District Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Therein, he serves as a mentor to attorneys in the greater-Philadelphia area seeking guidance or experience in the areas of civil rights and employment law(s) and assists coordinating pro-bono representation.
Ari is also a frequent author and lecturer. He typically authors publications for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (“PBI”) several times per year, and he frequently lectures at Continuing Legal Education seminars. He also has and continues to speak about corporate legal considerations, best business practices, and substantive legal issues at events hosted by the Society for Human Resources Management (“SHRM”). Prior to this role, he was a Vice President and Global Chief Diversity Officer for Ahold Delhaize, Fortune 200 company, where he established global Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, Ambition and Actions to support D&I. Prior to Thomson Reuters, Subarna was with Unilever, based in Singapore and London where he led the global external diversity relations, global diversity and inclusion communications, global diversity learning and flexibility programs. Under his leadership, Unilever won the prestigious 2013 Catalyst Award along with the European Diversity Award 2012, the Women in Leadership: China’s Most Friendly Employer 2012 and the WorkingMums.UK Employer of the Year Award 2012.
Prior to that, Subarna was a Workforce Diversity Director for Sodexo in North America, where he helped leaders develop and implement diversity and inclusion strategies for clients, customers and employees. He also provided strategic guidance to Sodexo’s eight Global Employee Resource Groups and Cross Market Diversity Council. He was also responsible for the overall program management for Diversity Business Leadership Summit, a premier annual diversity event for Sodexo attended by the top executives and clients across the Fortune 500 companies and managed 16 employees and $2 million budget.
Interestingly, Subarna’s career began in technology. He was previously a program manager for Marriott International, systems engineer for the Department of Defense and a computer intelligence specialist for the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Storm and Operation Restore Hope.
In the non-profit front, Subarna was an advisor to Nepa Nasa Pucha America, America Nepal Senior Community and America Nepal Society in Washington, D.C.

Thi PhanCigna Corp - Senior VP and Chief Counsel
As Vice President and Chief Counsel of Corporate Law at Cigna, Thi is responsible for leadership of the Strategic Transactions, Mergers & Acquisitions, Information Technology law, Intellectual Property, Investment Management, Real Estate and Tax law functions at Cigna.
Thi joined Cigna in 2005 and has held various roles of increasing responsibility within the organization. Previous roles include Corporate Secretary with oversight of corporate governance, the securities and treasury law functions, including legal support on disclosure matters, capital financing transactions, insider trading and executive compensation.
Prior to joining Cigna, Thi spent a number of years in law firm practice at Cahill Gordon & Reindel and Drinker Biddle. Thi graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of the Arts in International Relations at the University of Pennsylvania. She received a Juris Doctor at the Columbia University School of Law where she was an editor of the School’s Law Review.

Tom FungTemple Fox School of Business - Professor
Tom is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at the Fox School of Business, Temple University. Prior to his appointment at Temple, Tom served as Director of the M.S. Global Fashion Enterprise Program for 3 years at Philadelphia University.
Tom developed a plethora of eclectic interests over 29 years working in the consumer packaged goods industry. Travel is perhaps part of his DNA, as international assignments with Campbell Soup Company had taken him to Europe and Asia. Formerly, as Director of Operations for North American Foodservice Division, Tom managed all aspects of the supply chain, with direct impact to profit and loss. His corporate experience ranged from engineering, packaging, and operations management to strategic planning. He was a key liaison between product development and marketing, overseeing 30 manufacturing plants, supporting commercialization, business continuity planning, capital budgeting, technology assessment, and lean manufacturing practices.
Tom has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; MBA from Temple Fox School of Business, and MS in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. Here she obtained experience setting direction for the seating division from inception of products globally to design and development to sales launch, marketing and sell through strategies for seating portfolio. David ChanECA Recruiters - Managing Partner
David’s career has primarily been in the healthcare industry in such roles as new business development, account management, customer relationship management and most recently both talent acquisition and career development. Graduating with his Bachelor’s degree, he was initially recruited to join Marion Laboratories, one of Fortune Magazine’s “America’s most admired companies” in a professional pharmaceutical sales career. After winning numerous regional and national sales awards, being selected as a regional trainer and management development candidate, he continued his career selling surgical implants and capital equipment for Allergan and Picker Medical to some of our nation’s most prestigious academic institutions and surgeons in the Philadelphia region. He transitioned his career to an executive recruiter over a decade ago joining ECA Recruiters, a firm with nearly four decades of history of placing sales people and sales managers nationwide. In this role, David has developed dozens of Fortune 500 and start up clients, placed hundreds of individuals in new careers throughout the nation and is often a confidant and resource to those individuals seeking career guidance. David is also a very active community leader. He’s a current board member of the National Association of Asian American Professionals, Philadelphia Chapter.

Alice is currently a Vice President of Human Resources focusing on Organizational Capability for Comcast Cable Headquarters in Philadelphia. In this role Alice is focused on organizational design, structure and optimization of the workforce by linking business strategies to the people processes and people interactions that accelerate collation and drive organizational effectiveness.
Prior to this role Alice was the Human Resources Business Partner for Cable HQ Content Acquisitions, Finance, Human Resources, and Military Affairs where she designed people strategies across these teams through talent management planning, diversity strategies and succession planning.

Tracey Nguyen is a Principal at Baker Tilly Capital, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, a top 15 accounting and advisory firm. Tracey leads Baker Tilly’s Real Estate Project Finance practice in the East Region and she specializes in tax credits and incentives, including Opportunity Zones, New Markets Tax Credits, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, and state and local incentives. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Tracey was a senior vice president with a commercial real estate development firm and private equity real estate fund, where she was responsible for strategic planning and implementing corporate growth initiatives, as well as sourcing, structuring and executing debt and equity financing, and overseeing asset management for the firm’s portfolio.
